The concept of Liquid Gold comes from the name Melite, a figure in Greek mythology. During the Romanization of Malta, the Romans called the island Melita which later evolved to Malta. The design will encapsulate the opacity and drippy texture of honey as well as its amber tones evoking the users with feelings of calmness, honey-sweet, glorious, and splendid. All of which are also the meanings of Melite. The design will effectively use different playful light techniques, shape, and color to create this idyllic and euphoric atmosphere.

All rooms are equipped with a key card switch in the entryway. Insert the room key and access to the HVAC and lighting is granted. While guests are not occupying the room, these systems are turn off leaving a smaller ecological footprint with every stay. There are both physical controls in the room and on the Għasel Hotel App.
The curtains will also be motorized for ease of use and for temperature regulating. Each room has daylight sensors and the lights will adjust accordingly to the amount of natural light the sensor is receiving. This mimics the human bodies' natural circadian rhythm. Studies have shown circadian rhythm is incredibly beneficial to travelers and those jetlagged to get them back on a regular schedule.
